Crime Scene Eindhoven
In 1891 zijn de gloeilampen van Philips of Eindhoven design city nog ver weg; de eerste strafzaak in deze stadswandeling betreft een sigarendiefstal. Niet verwonderlijk, want eind negentiende eeuw staat de lichtstad vanwege haar grootschalige rookwarenproductie ook wel bekend als la ville fumée (de rokende stad). In de twintigste eeuw gidst deze tocht u onder andere langs het Stratumseind, als in 1956 een jongeman zijn geliefde probeert te vergiftigen met bonbons; langs het voormalige politiebureau aan de Grote Berg, waar de politie in 1965 de spraakmakende moord op het zesjarige jongetje Corrie Hofman moet zien op te lossen; langs de Emmasingel, waar eind jaren zestig verhitte communisten van de Rode Jeugd voor tumult zorgen; langs het huidige politiebureau aan de Mathildelaan voor de moord op Nicole van den Hurk in 1995, een zaak die pas 25 jaar later leidt tot de definitieve veroordeling van de dader; en langs de Dommelstraat, waar in 2011 het zoveelste slachtoffer van zinloos uitgaansgeweld valt te betreuren.
In 1891, Philips light bulbs and Eindhoven’s claim as design city are a thing of the future; the criminal case kicking off this city walk is concerned with the theft of cigars. Inevitably, since at the close of the nineteenth century Eindhoven is primarily known for its large number of tobacco companies and often referred to as la ville fumée (French for the smoking city). In the twentieth century, among others, this walk takes you along entertainment district Stratumseind, where a young man tries to poison his lover with rum bonbons in 1956; along the former police station at the Grote Berg, where the officers are trying to solve the murder of a six-year-old boy in 1965; along the Emmasingel, where in the late sixties the communists of the Red Youth stir a lot of trouble; along present-day police headquarters at the Mathildelaan, where in 1995 police struggle to tie the murder of a sixteen-year-old girl to a suspect - a case finally wrapped up 25 years later; and along the Dommelstraat, where a young man out on the town is fatally injured in a bar.

Crime Scene Amsterdam
​In de crime scene tour door de Nederlandse hoofdstad wisselen wereldwijd bekende delicten en bijna vergeten, kleinere strafzaken elkaar af. Deze stadswandeling begint in 1885 op de Nieuwmarkt met een vogelverkoper wiens handelswaar in beslag wordt genomen - met fatale gevolgen voor de vrolijke fluiters. In 1894 reconstrueren we een hevige straatruzie op de Zeedijk – zoals er daar destijds zoveel waren – die evenmin goed afloopt. In de twintigste eeuw voert de wandeling onder andere langs het Rokin, waar in 1930 met een inbraak de geschiedenis aanvangt van de destijds vermaarde gentleman-inbreker Witte Nelis. En verder gaat de tocht, langs de Oudezijds Voorburgwal, waar de politie in 1957 de prostitutée Magere Josje dood aantreft. Op het Tweede Weteringplantsoen begint in 1983 de ontvoering van biermagnaat Alfred Heineken, een misdaadgeschiedenis met uitlopers naar Parijs, Guadeloupe en Paraguay. In de eenentwintigste eeuw houden we halt in de Linneausstraat, waar in 2004 de bekende cineast en columnist Theo van Gogh door een radicale moslim op beestachtige wijze om het leven wordt gebracht.
In this crime scene tour along the streets of the Dutch capital, criminal cases that are known worldwide are presented side by side with nearly forgotten, smaller cases. The oldest one dates from 1885 and brings us to the Nieuwmarkt, where a bird seller sees his birds seized – and erroneously suffocated - by a police officer. The following case concerns a street fight at the Zeedijk in 1894 – back then a common sight – with one person fatally injured. In the twentieth century this city walk takes you, among others, along the Rokin, starting point of the exploits of famous gentleman-burglar Witte Nelis. And along the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, where in 1957 police discover the dead body of prositute Magere Josje. The Tweede Weteringplantsoen is the location that kicks off the story of the kidnapping of brewing company chief Alfred Heineken, a history that takes us all the way to Paris, Guadeloupe and Paraguay. And we make a stop at the Linneausstraat, the 2004 crime scene of the gruesome killing of film director Theo van Gogh by a radical muslim.
Crime Scene Maastricht

In deze mooie, oudste stad van het land gidst de crime scene tour u langs historische plekken als de Servaasbrug, het Vrijthof en de Helpoort. De eerste strafzaak stamt uit 1860, als moordenaar Johann Nathan de twijfelachtige eer krijgt als laatste in Nederland te worden veroordeeld tot de dood door de strop, in het openbaar op de markt. Zijn raadsman Eugène van Oppen is een kwart eeuw later slachtoffer in de tweede zaak, als de gerenommeerde jurist en zijn kinderen op brute wijze worden gedood in de advocatenpraktijk aan het Sint Servaasklooster. In de twintigste eeuw voert deze stadswandeling onder andere langs het Vrijthof, waar in 1987 op raadselachtige wijze oude meesters verdwijnen uit de kunstgalerie van Robert Noortman; langs de Herbenusstraat, waar de sinds 1993 vermiste studente Tanja Groen voor het laatst is gezien; en langs het treinstation, waar in 1997 met explosieven de ruiten uit een wisselkantoor worden geblazen.
In the beautiful, oldest city of the Netherlands this city walk takes you along historical sites like the Servaasbrug, the Vrijthof and the Helpoort. The first criminal case dates from 1860 and brings us to Maastricht market square, site of the last public hanging of a murderer on Dutch soil. A quarter of a century later, that murderer’s lawyer is a victim in this city walk’s second case, when he and his children are brutally killed in his law offices at the Sint Servaasklooster. In the twentieth century, among others, this walk takes you along the Vrijthof, where in 1987 several old masters mysteriously disappear from the Robert Noortman art gallery; along the Herbenusstraat, where a student goes missing in 1993, never to be heard of again; and along the Maastricht train station, where the facade of an exchange office is blown away in 1997.
